Experience

Dr. Hartnell served with WorldVenture as a church worker on the South coast of Kenya for 17 years. His primary focus was church planting among the Digo, an unreached people group. Professor Hartnell also served as Kenya Field Chairman for six years and as pastor of a multi-ethnic church in Mombasa for two years. Presently, he is serving as an International Resource Consultant with WorldVenture in addition to teaching at Phoenix Seminary. Dr. Hartnell completed his Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies at the School of Intercultural Studies, Fuller Theological Seminary. His award-winning dissertation was on the oral contextualization of biblical truth to the Digo people of Kenya.
