Experience
Dr. Wegner became Professor of Old Testament in 2001 after teaching at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago for 12 years. Dr. Wegner has extensive experience in local church ministry. He has also delivered many lectures and papers to both academic and popular audiences. His interests include Hebrew, textual criticism, and ancient artifacts. He has led and taught numerous trips to Israel. Dr. Wegner was a contributor to the ESV Study Bible (Crossway Bibles, 2008), for which he wrote study notes for the prophetic books of Daniel and Habakkuk, the article on “The Reliability of the Old Testament Manuscripts,” and served as a consultant for the Old Testament Charts and Timelines. His specialty is the book of Isaiah, and he is currently under contract with IVP to write an updated commentary on Isaiah for the distinguished Tyndale Old Testament Commentary series (forthcoming 2015).
