Spouse Tuition Benefit (Partners in Ministry)
We recognize that the ministry of married couples is a team calling. To encourage spouses of students to participate in Phoenix Seminary classes and activities, spouses of MDiv, MABL, MAC, and Diploma credit students may enroll in credit or non-credit courses with no cost for tuition (not to exceed the hours taken by the primary credit student in any semester). To be eligible, the spouse must meet the appropriate Admission requirements and submit the Application for Admission and the Registration Form.
Note: Admission, General, ITS fees and any other miscellaneous fees will be charged. Tuition for the Graduate Writing Workshop (BC 499) will be covered under this program.
Alumni Tuition Benefit
The Alumni Tuition Waiver exists to encourage continuing education for our graduates. All Phoenix Seminary Alumni may register for any course (except TH 504, ITS, or DMin courses) as non-credit, non transcripted Alumni Enrichment with no charge for tuition or fees. DMin Alumni may register for one DMin course annually at no cost. Alumni who have outstanding financial obligations to the Seminary will not be permitted to register for Alumni Enrichment courses.
Veterans’ Benefits
The MDiv, MABL, and DMin programs at Phoenix Seminary are eligible for VA benefits. Only courses which count toward the degree will be included in the enrollment certification. The VA’s progress requirements are the same as those stated in the Academic Standing and Academic Probation sections of this Handbook. To begin the certification process a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office prior to enrolling in classes.
Ministry Waiver
The Ministry Waiver is designed to allow individuals engaged in full-time ministry to attend one course as a student with no cost for tuition. Applicants must be engaged in full-time ministry and must meet the Admission requirements. Applicants must not have attended Phoenix Seminary previously, and are limited to one tuition-waived course. Please note that the General fee is still assessed.
Important Note Concerning Registration Priority
The number of Ministry or Alumni Enrichment seats may be capped in some courses. When the maximum enrollment for a course has been reached, seating priority will be given to students in the following order (regardless of the date of registration):
1. Credit Students (non-tuition waiver)
2. Credit Students (tuition waiver)
3. Non-Credit Students (non-tuition waiver)
4. Non-Credit Students (tuition waiver)
