Brian Reed was born in Phoenix and has lived in Arizona for most of his life. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music at Northern Arizona University, his Master of Divinity at Phoenix Seminary and a Master of Theology at the University of Aberdeen. He served in full-time ministry for six years as a youth pastor and worship leader before he and his wife moved to Scotland for additional post-graduate study. Upon returning to Phoenix in 2008, he began serving at Glendale Christian Church as the full-time Worship Pastor, transitioning to the role of Senior Pastor in 2010. He also serves part-time as an adjunct instructor in the Biblical Studies department at Arizona Christian University. Brian and his wife Melissa have been married since 1999 and have two children. In addition to studying and teaching the Bible, Brian enjoys the reading (especially science fiction and fantasy), martial arts and getting into the outdoors.
Pastor Reed will be teaching OT500-1 Introduction to Hebrew this semester. OT501-1 Provides foundational knowledge and skills that can assist with Hebrew exegesis and translation when using tools such as commentaries and language software. Goals are to learn the alphabet, to develop a vocabulary of 150 words, to gain understanding of basic Hebrew grammar and paradigms and to develop confidence in the use of commentaries and language software for exegetical study (interpretation of the biblical text) of Ruth. Incorporates major Hebrew language tools and computer analysis tools. [3 hours. Instructor: Pastor Brian Reed. Frequency: Even Springs. Required for MDiv CF and MDiv LD. General elective for all other programs except MDiv BC and MAC. Prerequisite: None.]
