Hi Friends and Family,
We are happy to share with you that the spiritual climate here seems to warming up with the weather. There has been more openness for Mark to converse and share with folks in our city. This week while out on a prayer walk, Mark stopped to sit on a park bench and was joined by an elderly gentlemen who shared that he had been slowly going blind for 30 years. The doctors told him that it was due to his excessive grieving over the loss of his son 30 years ago. The man’s heart was tender and he let Mark pray for him. Obviously miracles would be a mighty testimony. Please join us in praying for this man’s spiritual and physical healing.
A gal working in a store that I went in last week, asked why we were here and I explained that if people are interested, we’ll give them a New Testament and answer questions. I showed her the New Testament that was in my purse and said if she would read it I’d be happy to give it to her. She surprised me by asking what verse I’d like to share with her, so we read John 3:16 and talked about what it meant. She kept the NT and asked me to come visit her again. I had just went in the store to look at earrings but God had bigger plans, I love that it is all His work in making opportunities as it is His work to soften hearts.
We’ve had quite a bit of company lately, which was full of blessings and encouragement. Mark sent me to Istanbul to attend a women’s conference, but it happen to fall on Children’s Holiday, which means all school children put on presentations at their schools. Hudson’s class boys were clowns, Joy’s class’s girls were lady bugs & did a dance
and Sam got to dress up in a traditional outfit to do a transitional dance. (Grace did her own little dance on the side). Mark did marvelously staying on top of all the craziness of the day, with help from my wonderful neighbor who basically adopted Joy as her own for the day and has jokingly forbidden me from ever leaving again on Children’s Holiday.
We continue to thank God for the family He is leading to join us. They are in the process of working through all the “have-to”s to be sent by their church. We Skype regularly and are blessed to share the same heart for reaching people who have never heard of God’s amazing grace. Please pray for their peace through this process and that He would bring them in a timely fashion.
We thank you for your prayers for us and for the openness of our city/region to His truth. May His Spirit be stirring in hearts.
With Love in Him,
Mark and Kathryn
